I first discovered Polish artist Tamara de Lempicka in the library of my art school. She’s been my inspiration and one of my most favorite female artists ever since.
“Tamara de Lempicka (1894–1980) was a renowned Polish painter best known for her iconic Art Deco style, which captured the glamour of the 1920s. Her work is characterized by bold lines, geometric shapes, and sensuous depictions of modern, independent women, often in dynamic poses. Lempicka’s eventful life involved reinventing herself, escaping Russia during the revolution, and fleeing Europe during World War II, before ultimately settling in Mexico.”
